Printer queue not removing docs after printing ?

I have a networked Dell printer that several guys print to with no problems
using Standard TCP/IP port. On one win2000 machine I can print to this
printer but the files in the spool folder are not removed, so if you restart
the spooler service or restart the machine they print out again. The printer
advanced properties check box "Keep printer documents" is not checked. The
files in the spool can be removed manually. I've tried Raw mode, still the
same.
Any ideas ?
Thanks
Tony

Two things to try

Disable Bidirectional on the Port tab of the printer properties

Give Everyone read/write to the spool folder. By default it is
\system32\spool\printers but check the print Server Properties Advanced
setting for the current location.

I am assuming everyone connects directly to the printer rather than through
a print server.

The printer has it's own lan connection, and everyone connects to it
directly via the network using a Standard TCP/IP port on their machines.
I'll try changing the permissions, but as the user involved can remove the
items from the spool folder manually this may not work.
Thanks
